For your final project you must undertake an analysis of a piece of biblical fiction, preferably one not read in class. Keep in mind the class deadline for your project proposal: October 27, 2008. Listed below are some novels and movies to get you started. You can also search online through www.amazon.com, books.google.com (for movies, plays, and novels) as well as www.imdb.com (for movies or television shows), using "subject searches" for terms like "bible AND novel."

Updated: Here are some lists of possible final project subjects from Wikipedia. Keep in mind that, whatever you choose, should be explicitly based on a recognizable biblical text or texts (so some of the works listed here--such as the Left Behind films--won't qualify): Wikipedia's List of Films Based on the Bible and Dramatic Portrayals of Jesus Christ.

The professor has several copies of movies and novels in his office that he might be willing to loan out: email him for an appointment to discuss (andrew.jacobs [at] ucr.edu).
