Readings from the Bible are given according to the following format:

1. Name of book by itself = Read the entire book (e.g., "Mark" by itself means to read all of the Gospel of Mark)

2. Name of book with individual numbers = Read those chapters of that book (e.g., "Acts 1-12, 14-15, 21-28" means to read Acts of the Apostles chapters 1 through 12, chapters 14 through 15 and chapters 21-28; Daniel 7 = chapter 7 of the book of Daniel)

3. Name of the book with numbers separated by a colon = Read those chapters and verses of that book (e.g., Matthew 5:1-17 = read chapter 5, verses 1 through 17 of the Gospel of Matthew)
